Introduction
• Use the free OpenPath app on your mobile device for access to lab spaces in the Art & Design department (Building 34).
• Only students enrolled in qualifying classes are eligible for after-hours access. To request access and set up OpenPath follow the steps in this guide.

With OpenPath installed and setup, and all the recommended services running on your phone, simply swipe close to the Smart Reader.

Recommended services include: Bluetooth, Wifi, and Location Services.

The OpenPath app must be activated via an email invitation on your phone. Access will be denied until the setup is first completed.

If the Smart Reader does not detect your phone, or if any of the recommended services are not running, use the OpenPath app to manually open the lab door.

Stand close to the lab door you want to open (Within about 6 ft.)

Open the OpenPath app on your phone, and click the lock icon on the corresponding door.

Once activated, the OpenPath Smart Reader will show a white circular light, and the lock will click when it opens.

The door will unlock for about 5 seconds, and then lock again.
